Shuffles Executives Across Brands

CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Holdings, parent of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., today completed its $340 million acquisition of Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Co., the maker of niche cigarette Natural American Spirit.

RJR named Richard M. Sanders president-CEO of Santa Fe, which will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary, succeeding Robin Sommers, who will remain with the company indefinitely to help the transition.

Mr. Sanders was previously head of RJR's Sports Marketing Enterprises unit.

Executive changes
R.J. Reynolds Tobacco also announced several other executive changes.

Executive Vice President of Marketing Lynn Beasley assumes the newly created position of president and chief operating officer of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co.,

Fran Creighton, previously vice president of marketing for Camel, succeeds Ms. Beasley as senior vice president of marketing.

Eugene Rhodes and Joseph Michalek were promoted to vice president of marketing for Camel and Winston, respectively.
