RJR relights Red Kamel after 60-year absence

Published on .

R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. is relaunching its Red Kamel brand 60 years after dropping the product. Red Kamel and Red Kamel Light will go into Dallas, Los Angeles and New York this month and into San Francisco on March 15 with a teaser campaign from Gyro, Philadelphia, using the theme line, "Back for no good reason except it tasted good." Unlike Camel cigarettes, advertised by Mezzina/Brown, New York, Red Kamel features a camel in motion.
