Rodale to shutter 'New Woman'

Rodale will cease publication of New Woman, New York, with its January issue. Rodale acquired the 1 million rate base title from Primedia in 1997 for about $25 million. Ex-Glamour editor Judy Coyne was hired to remake the magazine last year, and Rodale had high hopes for a successful relaunch. But Rodale Magazines President John Griffin cited the difficult newsstand and subscription markets as a factor in the decision to close the monthly.
