Rogaine wins stay

Published on .

Pharmacia & Upjohn, makers of hair regrowth product Rogaine, won a 10-day temporary restraining order in U.S. District Court for the western district of Michigan preventing other marketers from entering the new over-the-counter hair regrowth market. A hearing is set for April 25. The company is challenging Food & Drug Administration decisions to deny marketing exclusivity to Rogaine, allowing Bausch & Lomb and two other manufacturers to also enter the OTC market. An estimated $75 million marketing campaign breaks for Rogaine April 19.
