RUBBER DUCKS BILLED AS '96 RACING EVENT

Great American Duck Races, Scottsdale, Ariz., seeks sponsors on several levels for the 1996 Rubber Duck Races planned for 120 U.S. markets next year. The series features 1.4 million rubber ducks racing in various cities' waterways with celebrity and community involvement to benefit local causes. Custom sponsorships cost between $10,000 and $150,000, and include title sponsorships, on-site corporate identification, product promotion, sampling and coupon distribution, plus local retail tie-ins. National Veterans Wheelchair Games, scheduled for July 2 to 6, 1996, in Seattle, has sponsorships available at levels between $3,000 and $30,000. Participating in the athletic competitions will be veterans with spinal cord injuries, neurological conditions and amputations. Events include track and field, archery, bowling, table tennis, swimming, weightlifting and basketball; already participating are United Parcel Service, AT&T, Coors Brewing Co. and Kroger Co. Hampton Classic Horse Show, Bridgehampton, N.Y., seeks sponsors for its 20th annual event, Aug. 27 to Sept. 3, drawing several thousand upscale spectators to see more than 1,000 horses competing in the hunter-jumper category. Hoop Jam, New York, wants to score a title sponsor at $15,000 and supporting sponsors at $5,000 each for its three-on-three basketball tournament among corporate teams slated for Oct. 21 at Hunter College in Manhattan. Science Service, New York, is looking for awards sponsors for the 47th International Science & Engineering Fair for high school students, planned for May 6 to 12, 1996, in Tucson, Ariz. The fair is the culmination of activities involving millions of students from around the world competing in various categories on science and engineering projects. Ramsey Racing, Marietta, Ga., seeks sponsors for its Formula One powerboat team participating in races in Orlando, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, San Diego and Las Vegas between now and yearend.
