Ruling hits new USPS service

Published on .

Pack & Send, a Postal Service test market product offering packaging and mailing services at selected Postal Stores and post offices, must win formal approval from the U.S. Postal Rate Commission, the PRC has ruled. USPS had not sought PRC approval before testing the service, which has been available in 230 postal outlets. The PRC acted on a complaint filed by the Coalition Against Unfair USPS Competition, San Diego, which includes the nation's five major mail and parcel center franchise networks: Mail Boxes Etc., Pak Mail, Parcel Plus, PostNet and Postal Annex+.
