Saatchi absorbs London agency K advertising

LONDON -- Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising has merged its London ad agency K Advertising into the agency. K Advertising had 1996 billings of $48m and primarily serviced U.K. clients, although it is the German sports shoe brand Puma's international global soccer agency and has done international work for French telecoms group Alcatel.

K Advertising's 34-person team of account handlers and creatives will be integrated into Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising's existing groups. There have been six redundancies.

Hamish Pringle, chairman of K Advertising, becomes vice chairman of marketing director of Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising. He retains has client responsibilities and will take on the role of marketing the Saatchi brand.
