[cincinnati] Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising will close its office here March 31 after losing its only client to a former employee.

Former Saatchi VP-Area Supervisor Mike Chappelle and partner Tony Ciafardini recently formed Chappelle Ciafardini Advertising Associates and won the $20 million media buying account of the Cincinnati Area Toyota Dealers Association.

The new agency also won creative on the account, which had been handled by Saatchi & Saatchi/Pacific in Torrance, Calif.

Mr. Chappelle was a 17-year vet of Toyota Motor Sales USA when Saatchi recruited him in January 1995 to "sort of save the account...Now I have resigned and the account came with me."

Saatchi's Cincinnati operation has six employees.

Six years ago Mr. Ciafardini left Saatchi and formed Tony Ciafardini Advertising Associates in Boston, winning the New England Toyota Dealers Association account. The Boston and Cincinnati agencies aren't being merged.
