Saatchi names Rabosky to creative slot

Published on .

Saatchi & Saatchi, Torrance, Calif., named Steve Rabosky chief creative officer, heading up the Toyota Motor Sales USA account. The agency, with billings of $529 million, has been without a head creative officer since Joe McDonagh left in January 1999 to become co-president and executive creative director at Ogilvy & Mather, Los Angeles. Mr. Rabosky, previously a leading creative at TBWA/Chiat/Day's southern California office, had risen through the creative ranks at Ammirati Puris Lintas' London office, where he was deputy worldwide creative director. When Ammirati merged with Lowe & Partners in late 1999 to form Lowe Lintas & Partners Worldwide, he decided to leave the agency. Mr. Rabosky, who began working at Saatchi July 20, was courted for the job in May 1999, but the deal at that time fell through.
