Salon.com on March 20 became the latest content site to embrace the new, larger ad units that have been proliferating on the Internet. The company said that it had signed Intel and Lexus to charter deals in which those advertisers would use the "Messaging Plus" unit that can handle HTML and rich media ads. Simultaneously, the company is launching a paid service, Salon Premium, which will offer exclusive content and contain no advertising. -- Catherine P. Taylor
