Saudi media exec leaves for consultancy

Published on .

CAIRO - Marketing Manager Emad Mugharbel has left Saudi-owned Arab Radio & Television for his old job -- running a marketing consulting business for large Arab and international conglomerates.

At Charisma Sales Promotion & Marketing Services, Mr. Mugharbel's previous clients in Saudi Arabia included Procter & Gamble Co., Shell and Saudi petrochemical manufacturers. Now, the company is to move its head office from Jeddah to Cairo, and the aim is to expand the Saudi business to include Egypt and the Emirates as well.

"There's a lot of demand for this business here," said Mr. Mugharbel, listing multinationals from Procter & Gamble Co. to Coca-Coca Co., which have set up in Egypt. "Egypt has been crying out for serious marketing skills."
