Mr. O'Hara's appointment is part of a larger reshuffle at AMS, which includes shifting former AMS CEO Talal Dhulaymi to senior marketing VP for Ara Group International, the Saudi parent company.
Mr. O'Hara joined MBC as sales and marketing director in January. Previously, he headed client sales for Mirror Group Newspapers, Britain's biggest publishing house.
"The appointment of a seasoned sales professional such as Phil will help us in a very competitive market place," says MBC CEO Ian Ritchie. The satellite station will work closely with AMS to improve services to advertisers and viewers.
The reshuffle comes as eight-year-old, Saudi-owned MBC faces increasing competition for viewers and advertising dollars from a new crop of satellite channels.
