Rino Scanzoni, executive VP, and managing director of MediaVest
U.S.A., resigned from the agency on Dec. 30. to pursue other interests. Mel Berning, president of U.S. broadcast, will assume his post. Mr. Scanzoni has been mentioned as a candidate to head GM Mediaworks, the IPG agency dedicated to media buying for General Motors. Marc Goldstein was the exec VP-managing director at Mediaworks, but left to take the job of president of national broadcast and programming at WPP Group's MindShare, succeeding Peter Chrisanthopoulos, who left for startup Hispanic TV network Azteca America. Mr. Scanzoni could not be reached for comment.
"We wish Rino well," said Jack Klues, chief executive officer of the Starcom MediaVest Group, "and appreciate the many significant contributions he has made during his tenure at MediaVest and before that at TeleVest, which have led to the long-term growth and success of our company today."
Prior to working at Mediavist, Mr. Scanzoni was a media director at TeleVest and D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles.
