The review of the full service business also includes the Schizan "new age" carbonated fruit drink and Sienna, a coffee carbonate.
Agencies invited to pitch along with DDB are believed to be Saatchi & Saatchi and Young & Rubicam, which hold other of the company's products not marketed under the Schweppes banner, and Lowe Howard-Spink. In May Schweppes Europe gave Y&R the task of launching Dr. Pepper in continental Europe.
Dominic Lowe, vice president of marketing, says the move is instigated by recent changes in senior management, which include the appointment of Doug Tough to president.
Last year, Schweppes Europe spent $29m across Europe, though the spend was split between countries where the DDB office ran separate campaigns for different products. The budget for the coming year will be less but is expected to focus more on the Schweppes name.
