Scott plans hygienic line

Scott Paper Co., Philadelphia, plans to launch a line of Advanced Personal Hygiene products under the Cottonelle name, including bath tissue with micro-fine baking soda to reduce and neutralize odor. The other new Cottonelle products include a hypo-allergenic bath tissue and moist personal wipes with aloe. Maria Smith, senior brand manager for Cottonelle, said an $8 million ad campaign for the line will begin in August. It will be backed by an additional $5 million for consumer promotions, including in-pack coupons, FSI support, prenatal sampling and a public relations campaign. Previously a regional brand, Cottonelle will be available nationally this summer with Canada, Europe and the Pacific to follow in 1996. Agency is Bozell, New York.
