Scout Electromedia joins idealab! network

Scout Electromedia, a wireless device developer, received $18 million in funding from idealab!, as well as existing investors Chase Capital Partners, Flatiron Partners and TechFund Capital. The new funding will fuel the launch of Scout Electromedia's first wireless product, MODO, an electronic city guide positioned as an easy-to-use and up-to-date entertainment guide. MODO, which targets 21-to-34-year-old users, will launch this summer in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
