ScreamingMedia, an aggregator and distributor of real-time content to special-interest and vertical Web sites, is introducing an embedded application into Web page content that allows consumers to make purchases without having to leave the original site. The concept is positioned as making Web shopping more convenient, sites stickier and opening new branding and revenue opportunities for online merchants. In related news, the company, headed by CEO Jay Chiat, named Gregoire Sentilhes president-international operations. Mr. Sentilhes formerly served as VP-marketing worldwide for Bertelsmann OnLine, an e-commerce company of the Bertelsmann Group, New York.
