Scripps' Newman resigns

Published on .

Steve Newman, 52, senior VP-Scripps networks ad sales, resigned today from E.W. Scripps Co., Cincinnati, effective Dec. 31. Mr. Newman had responsibility for ad sales for the Home & Garden Television network, which admitted earlier this year it had sold some national TV spots that it knew would be covered up by spots sold by some local cable operators. Scripps later set aside $2.5 million for make-goods for those national advertisers.
