Sears, Compaq join forces

Published on .

Sears, Roebuck & Co., Hoffman Estates, Ill., and Compaq Computer Corp., Houston, are linking for a preferred product distribution deal for Presario Internet PCs. Presario will be the only Windows-based desktop PC sold at Sears' 860 Home Electronics departments as well as Sears' online store. The computers will be available for the back-to-school season. The program will get ad support, but the agency couldn't be determined at deadline.
