Seattle's becoming a crowded market for local online guides. Cox Interactive Media Feb. 2 unveiled, its 26th local online city guide. The site features news content from CBS affiliate KIRO-TV as well as a customized search engine from LookSmart that covers 9,000 Seattle Web sites. Cox hopes that by providing a local search engine, local news and community interaction the site will stand out from Microsoft Corp.'s Sidewalk, which has a strong Seattle presence, as well as, produced by the Seattle Times newspaper. Cox is supporting the launch with a local TV, radio, outdoor and online ad campaign. The ads were created in-house by free-lancers.
