Segarra to head 'AA' Hipsanic awards jury

Toni Segarra, one of the world's most awarded creatives, will preside over the jury at Advertising Age's sixth annual Hispanic Creative Advertising Awards. Mr. Segarra, 42, is founder and chief creative officer of one of Spain's leading ad agencies, S,C,P,F, in Barcelona, where he does work for marketers like Ikea and BMW. WPP Group has a 30% stake in S,C,P,F.

The jury will meet in New York in July to judge the awards. The deadline for entries has been extended to June 1, 2004 and entry forms can be downloaded from AdAge.com.

Senior marketers on this year's jury include Sonia Green, director-diversity marketing and sales, General Motors Corp.; Eddie Lindley, brand manager, U.S. Hispanic for Unilever Bestfoods' Knorr; and Saul Sola, Chivas Regal's national brand manager.

Jury creatives

The other creatives on the jury are Laurence Klinger, chief creative officer of Publicis Groupe's Lapiz, Chicago; Enrique Renta, founder and creative director of Puerto Rican agency EJE Sociedad Publicitaria, San Juan; Daniel Marrero, partner-creative director at C.O.D., a Miami-based shop that won TV and radio Gold prizes for Volkswagen of America in last year's awards; and Florencia Leibaschoff, a creative at Omnicom Group's Dieste, Harmel & Partners, Dallas, who will be on the first U.S. Hispanic team to ever compete at the Young Creatives contest at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival next month.

Ad Age `s Hispanic Creative Advertising Awards are held in cooperation with the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies. The winners will be announced at an awards show Oct. 1 in New York, and published in a special report in Ad Age Oct. 4 and on AdAge.com.
