Sen. Ford toughens bill on tobacco ads

Sen. Wendell Ford (D., Ky.) introduced a stronger version of the alternative to Food & Drug Administration tobacco rules he offered last year. The bill, which had banned ads in magazines with more than 15% underage subscribers and within 500 feet of a school, now would also ban most tobacco ads in sports arenas where 25% of the audience is under 18.
