Shandwick acquires financial PR agency in Ireland

DUBLIN--London-based Shandwick International has acquired Financial and Corporate Communications, the Dublin-based public relations company headed by the special adviser to Ireland's President Mary MacAleese, for $4 million.

FCC's founder and main shareholder Eileen Gleeson, who advises the president of Ireland in a personal capacity, has committed herself to the business for another four years. Ms. Gleeson remains managing director.

Shandwick has 69 offices employing 1,680 people worldwide. In January Shandwick ended a 10-year relationship with Dublin PR company Slattery.
