Hearst Magazines announced several appointments on Tuesday. Among them: Frances Scennion Reilly to the new position of director of direct marketing-brand development, from Time, New York.

At Redbook: Lauren Michaels to the new position of eastern advertising and beauty director, from advertising manager and beauty market manager, Allure; Sandra Gilson to Los Angeles manager from account manager, Prevention; Jennifer Boyer to business manager from business manager, Popular Mechanics. She replaces Nancy Denholtz, who becomes general manager, Harper's Bazaar; and Jennifer Delehanty to research director from research director, YM.

Country Living appointed Cathy Smith to marketing director from group marketing director, American Homestyle Group, Gruner & Jahr, and Jennifer Deans to New York manager from account manager. She replaces Deborah Brandt, who becomes New York manager, Cosmopolitan.
