Shoppers Express moves

Published on .

Shoppers Express, an online grocery shopping and delivery service, in June will move its headquarters from Bethesda, Md., to Chicago. The service is currently in seven markets including Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Seattle, Cleveland, Phoenix and Columbus, Ohio. "The Chicago location will allow us the opportunity to attract the variety of professionals we need in this business," said Allison Abraham, president of Shoppers Express.

Peapod, another provider of online grocery shopping backed by Ameritech Corp. and the Tribune Co., is also headquartered in the Chicago area. Peapod offers its service primarily in Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Columbus, Ohio, and plans to expand to Atlanta, Dallas, Houston and Austin, Texas, later this year.
