Going shopping on the Web

For those skeptical of the potential for the Internet to serve as a marketplace, a MasterCard International-sponsored survey may prove otherwise. The survey, conducted on MasterCard's Pointers World Wide Web site, found that 66% of the 300 respondents use the Internet to shop, 28% have already bought goods or services on the Internet and 17% spend an average of an hour or two looking at merchandise when they shop on the Internet.
