Kart Expo International, Wheaton, Ill., wants to roll with sponsors at various levels for its fourth annual show targeting enthusiasts of the $1 billion go-cart industry, to be held Oct. 28 and 29 at the Indiana Convention Center and the RCA Dome in Indianapolis. Available sponsorships: title ($35,000), major ($12,000) and associate ($6,000), all including various product and corporate logo exposure, plus cable TV coverage. Black Expo Chicago seeks a title sponsor plus other co-sponsors for its sixth annual exposition for African-American businesses and consumers to be held July 7 to 9 at Chicago's McCormick Place. Sponsorship costs range between $30,000 and $55,000 for on-site presence, product sampling and promotional opportunities. About 170,000 consumers are expected to attend. World Flight, Del Mar, Calif., is looking for sponsors to lift the flight of Vicki Van Meter, 13, expected to be the youngest person to pilot an airplane around the globe early next year. One title sponsorship in the high six figures, or several presenting sponsorships at $250,000, are sought. Ms. Van Meter's proposed feat follows flights across Europe last year and the U.S. in 1993. Sponsorships include corporate and logo exposure during the 35-nation tour of cities and schools; the tour is expected to last four to six weeks. Prime Sports Interactive, Irving, Texas, seeks title and presenting sponsors for its first annual Fantasy Draft Night, a 2-hour live interactive telecast Aug. 28 to more than 5,000 bars and clubs nationwide. The third AIDS Celebrity Golf & Tennis Classic, benefiting the Arthur Ashe Endowment for the Defeat of AIDS, is offering title sponsorship for the $25,000 event, to be held July 13 at the Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell, N.J. The Major Indoor Lacrosse League, Prairie Village, Kan., seeks sponsors for the 1996 winter season, providing in-event presence, marketing and promotional tie-ins including cable TV coverage on ESPN.
