Simba: Web advertising to hit $7.1 bil by 2002

Online advertising spending will hit $7.1 billion by 2002, a 238% increase over 1998 expenditures of $2.1 billion, according to a new report from Stamford, Conn.-based research firm Simba Information. The study, Web Advertising 1998-99: Market Analysis & Forecast, cited that growth rates will peak this year, when interactive ad expenditures reach $5.5 billion.
