Satellite-radio company Sirius Satellite Radio began shipping its first radios to retailers nationwide. Nine models made by radio manufacturer Kenwood USA Corp. are available to consumers for $300 and up at national and regional stores including Circuit City Stores, Good Guys and Tweeter Home Entertainment. Sirius, which plans to launch its $9.95-a-month, 100-channel digital-quality satellite broadcasting to consumers this spring with an ad campaign from Omnicom Group's Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco, hopes this introduction of radios will generate early subscribers.
