, an online personal community, launched its first formal advertising agency review for its $6 million to $10 million account. Agency consultant Pile & Co. has been retained to manage the review. Pile & Co. is in the process of contacting a number of agencies to determine interest. Sixdegrees expects to name an agency by mid-October. The advertising assignment will include both online and offline media. In related news, Sixdegrees and Uproar.com, an online game show and entertainment site, have combined promotional efforts for a two-week game sweepstakes. Both Sixdegrees and Uproar.com will drive traffic from their respective sites to "Six Degrees of Trivia,'' a co-branded trivia game sweepstakes; qualifying players will be automatically entered into a sweepstakes that will award $1,000 in cash. Banner ads and an e-mail newsletter support the promotion.
