SkyConnect and ACTV announced Dec. 3 a way to offer targeted TV spots. At the Western Show in Anaheim, Calif., the two companies introduced a program called Individualized Advertising. It combines ACTV's digital programming capabilities with SkyConnect's Digital Programming Insertion technology to allow advertisers to deliver targeted ads. It gives consumers the chance to select from one of four commercials they'd like to see. Advertisers will also direct ads based on personal information viewers input into the system or by examining what commercials viewers have selected in the past.
