Slate joins New York Times global syndicate

Microsoft Corp.'s online paid subscription magazine, Slate, will become the first Internet-based magazine to join the New York Times global syndicate. The Times distributes more than 80 columns, features and news services to more than 2,000 news organizations, including a column by Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates. In other Slate news, executives said the magazine has signed up 20,000 readers since it went paid ($19.95 per year) six weeks ago.
