Slate's traffic jumps

Microsoft Corp.'s online news, politics and culture magazine Slate has received a surge in traffic since offering a majority of its content free beginning in mid-February. Media Metrix reported Slate's reach increased 75% to a 0.7 rating in February. Slate Publisher Scott Moore expects that rating to hit 1.0 for the month of March.
