SmartAge signs Lycos

SmartAge (formerly NetWeb Corp.), a San Francisco start-up that provides online publishing services, signed a deal with Lycos to provides its SmartClicks banner exchange technology. Lycos and its subsidiary online community Tripod will incorporate the banner exchange software into their home page building services.

To extend its banner reach, SmartAge also established a program called XClicks Associate Plan, in which sites can offer banner exchange technology to their users as a way to attract traffic. Inc. Online, PC World Technology and ZDNet are the first three sites to join the program.
