SmithKline names Grey, O&M

SmithKline Beecham Consumer Healthcare named Grey Advertising and Ogilvy & Mather, both New York, to handle the company's $450 million advertising business.

O&M assumes worldwide responsibility for analgesics, primarily Panadol, succeeding BBDO Worldwide, which now handles Bayer aspirin for Bayer Corp. O&M also picks up SmithKline's gastrointestinal business, including over-the-counter Tagamet, Tums, Andrews and Phillips' Milk of Magnesia. Jordan, McGrath, Case & Taylor will still manage the Tums account in the U.S.

Grey, already agency for SmithKline's cough and cold and oral healthcare businesses, assumes worldwide responsibility for Horlicks, Oxy, Lactacyd and feminine hygiene products. Jordan McGrath will continue to handle Oxy in the U.S.
