Kraft Foods, Northfield, Ill., is elevating Paula Sneed to the new post of chief marketing officer from senior VP-marketing services. Ms. Sneed will continue to report to Kraft Exec VP Betsy Holden, who oversees marketing services, operations, and research and development. "Paula's appointment as chief marketing officer recognizes her excellent leadership of the marketing services function over the past four years and the critical role she continues to play in building the equity of Kraft Foods among consumers," Ms. Holden said. At the same time, Kraft VP-Advertising Services Dick Helstein, a well-known figure in ad circles and active in the Association of National Advertisers, will retire in August after 30 years with Kraft. He will be succeeded by Director of Advertising Barbara Ford, who will report to Ms. Sneed. "Dick has made so many business-building contributions to Kraft over the years that it's hard to sum up his achievements in a few words," Ms. Sneed said. "We will miss Dick's wit, expertise and his energy in encouraging marketing excellence across the country."
