Snyder Communications, Bethesda, Md., acquired NRS, Danbury, Conn., a marketing services company specializing in the pharmaceutical and consumer package-goods industries. The stock transaction is valued at $24.4 million. NRS provides in-store sales and promotion services; its client roster includes Abbott Laboratories, Procter & Gamble Co., Novartis and Warner-Lambert Co. NRS will give Snyder "direct access to virtually all pharmacies and drug retailers across the company," said Snyder Chairman-CEO Daniel M. Snyder. NRS is the latest in a string of about a dozen acquisitions by Snyder in the past year.
