Soap Opera Digest in September launches its third "Behind the Scenes With Soap Opera Digest and NBC Daytime" mall tour. The two-day events will visit six major markets, allowing fans to meet daytime series actors. Sponsors include Mercury Records, Philips Consumer Electronics and Chrysler Corp. displaying the Plymouth Neon and Voyager car models.

U.S. Postal Service signed on as official delivery service of college football's Heisman Trophy, including sponsorship of local and national college football TV broadcasts, game-day programs and an ad supplement in Touchdown Illustrated. The deal with the Downtown Athletic Club in Manhattan supports the Priority Mail service. PSP Sports Marketing, New York, handles.

Nintendo of America teamed with KFC Corp. for an integrated promotion launching this fall and centering on Nintendo's Potemkin character. Between Nov. 15 and Dec. 20, consumers buying KFC kids meals will get various free toys based on the character, including bean bags, puzzles and temporary tattoos. Nintendo also will demonstrate its Game Boy videogame systems in KFC stores. The promotion is backed by local and national TV spots, and print ads in Sports Illustrated for Kids.
