Sonera launches Interactive service globally

Published on .

LONDON--Finnish telecommunications company, Sonera, is gearing up for the global launch of its new interactive service Zed through its agency Leo Burnett.

Zed provides access to information, entertainment and e-commerce through a mobile phone. It was showcased for the first time at Telecom '99 in Geneva and will launch in the year 2000.

With the Zed service and a mobile phone, a user can send a GSM postcard to a friend, search on-line, send and receive e-mail, access relevant news and financial information, access favorite e-commerce services, and provide a secure gateway to business applications.

Formerly Telecom Finland, Sonera specializes in enhanced services. The company appointed Leo Burnett Co., in September.
