Sony Electronics, Park Ridge, N.J., expects to boost its ad budget by 20% to 25% in fiscal 2000, it reported Jan. 6 at the International Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas. Sony will end fiscal '99 in March, having spent about $80 million, according to Competitive Media Reporting. The electronics giant is ramping up an ad and marketing push around digital imaging and personal networking solutions for spring. Y&R Advertising, New York handles. However, a long-anticipated global brand campaign has been pushed back, possibly to late this year.
