Sony drops PlayStation price 25%

Sony Computer Entertainment of America, Foster City, Calif., will drop the suggested retail price of its PlayStation video game system almost 25%, to $99, effective Aug. 23 and promote the deal with a $150 million marketing blitz, rolled out over two months in TV, radio and cinema advertising. The price of some popular PlayStation titles will drop as low as $19.99.
