Sony launches music portal

Published on .

Sony Electronics, Park Ridge, N.J., launched Musiclub, a Web music portal that offers access to 50,000 downloadable tracks and packaged CDs, along with music news and information on artists. The site also offers links to more than 300 music download Web sites. The Web push is part of Sony's strategy to promote its growing stable of digital music devices, which include the Memory Stick Walkman, Network Walkman and VAIO MusicClip player. In addition, Sony launches dedicated displays for its Memory Stick portable, digital storage media in 650 Circuit City stores at the end of April. The displays will feature Sony's Memory Stick products such as Walkman, VAIO PCs, a picture frame, and digital cameras.
