SONY PICTURES CLOSE TO APPOINTING SENIOR MARKETING EXEC

(Aug. 20, 2001) -- Sony Corp.'s Sony Pictures Entertainment is near completing a deal that would give Revolution Studios executive Geoffrey Ammer a senior marketing executive position. Mr. Ammer and Josh Goldstine -- Sony's senior executive vice president of marketing who recently served a 30-day suspension from the company after it was revealed that ads for a number of films featured a quote from a fictional critic -- would both report to Jeff Blake, president of worldwide marketing and distribution.
