Ad agencies don't have enough presence in Asia/Pacific, said Martin Sorrell, chairman of London-based WPP Group. In remarks at AdAsia '95, being held in Bali, Indonesia, Mr. Sorrell said, "It is absolutely critical in our business to have a stronger representation in this region. Asia/Pacific is the fastest-growing and most important region." He noted that only 15% of WPP's business originates in this region now, but he expects that to increase to at least 25% in the next five years. He added that agencies have tended to "conglomerate" the many cultures in this region, which he said is a mistake.
