Five for Soup

Five charter sponsors have been named for Parent Soup, an online "community" for parents to talk to each other and to experts about raising a family. Candice Carpenter, Parent Soup's chairman-CEO, said MGM/UA Home Entertainment, Nissan, Polaroid, Starbucks Coffee Co. and Toyota will advertise on the service. She said the sponsors will participate in editorial tie-ins, creating targeted membership programs and providing advice and tools for parents. Parent Soup is the first of five channels planned from iVillage, an independent production studio.
