Spain awards $10m Euro currency biz to TBWA

Madrid--Spain's finance ministry has tapped TBWA Worldwide to handle domestic advertising in the run-up to Jan. 1, 2002 launch of coins and banknotes for the single European currency, the euro. The appointment followed a five-way pitch including incumbent Eureka NW Ayer, Publicis, Vitruvio Leo Burnett and the Union Temporal de Empresas, formed by SCPF and Leader Mix. Publicis handles the euro currency assignment both for the French finance ministry and for the European Central Bank.
