Online music service Spinner.com, Burlingame, Calif., announces Feb. 1 it has closed a $12 million round of financing with minority investments from Sony Music Entertainment, a division of Sony Corp., Intel Corp. and Amerindo Investment Advisors. Spinner.com is planning a ``seven-figure'' user acquisition and branding campaign to be launched later this year, said VP-Marketing Scott Epstein. It will include online media and offline creative from San Francisco free-lance team Plan B. Finalists to handle media are Creative Media, and Hawk Media, both San Francisco. Spinner.com is also talking to several San Francisco Web shops to handle its interactive advertising.
