Champions of Speed International Circle of Honor, Las Vegas, wants to link with sponsors for the tribute to car racing. The site, planned for the entrance to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, will be completed in late 1997 and will feature statues and bronze plaques commemorating racing's heroes and the sport's heritage. Various sponsorship opportunities are available. Costs range from $25,000 for corporate representation to $6 million for exclusive single sponsorship of the site. American Eagle World Land Speed Record Challenge seeks sponsors for its attempt to break the 633 mph record in midsummer 1996 at Black Rock Desert, Nev. The 50,000-horsepower jet-power car, capable of going 700 mph, will be watched by racing enthusiasts and covered by international media. Los Angeles Marathon XI, slated for March 3, wants to run with sponsors on a variety of levels for the 26.2-mile marathon and related events including the L.A. Marathon Bike Tour, Corporate Challenge, Family Reunion Festival and three-day Quality of Life Expo. Customized sponsorships are available at various levels ranging from $50,000 to $500,000. Sunkist Orange Blossom Festival, Riverside, Calif., is rounding up sponsors for its second annual event scheduled for April 20 and 21, where more than 160,000 are expected. Sunkist is in its second year as title sponsor, but additional sponsorships are available for $25,000 (platinum) and $10,000 (gold), including on-site presence and marketer venue and booth locations.
