ROME--Sport Network, a group of Italian sports-related publications that allow advertisers to mix and match ad buys, has added the country's third largest sports newspaper to the group.

Sports Network says that Tutto Sport will join the nine other members of the organization, bringing the network's combined per-issue readership to around 8 million.

The group originally combined half a dozen motor racing-related publications, but has branched out to include other types of publications starting last year. The group already includes Corriere dello Sport, the second largest sports newspaper in Italy.

Gazzetta dello Sport, Italy's largest sports publication (and its second most widely distributed newspaper of any kind), is a member of a two-newspaper group along with the general circulation Corriere della Sera, the country's largest newspaper. Both newspapers are controlled by Gruppo Corriere della Sera.

Sports Network, which operates from both Rome and Milan, is the fastest growing publications group in the country, with readership rising from just 1.9 million in early 1999. A spokesman for the organization says that more newspapers and magazines could be added in the coming months.
