Sports pager debuts

MCI and News Corp. on Thursday launched their first cobranded product, the MCI/Fox Sports pager, which delivers sports news, scores and statistics throughout the day. It also functions as a regular alphanumeric pager and costs $34.95 per month for local paging service or $66 monthly for nationwide. ESPN launched a similar product in August called ESPNet To Go, which is also based on wireless pager technology. ESPN's product accesses data from a variety of sources including ESPN-owned Sports Ticker.
